 Hotel Description:

The nearby restaurants in the Campo di Fiori and Trastevere are some of the best (and most expensive) in Rome, and Trastevere has a lively selection of clubs; a daily market is held in the Campo, just three blocks away. The 71 rooms feature red and gold brocade bedspreads and tasseled curtains, plus carpeted or tiled floors and large windows. Some rooms have bathtubs in addition to showers. St George's Hotel is set in a pretty Roman townhouse, located between the Via Giulia and the Tiber River, a five minute walk from Piazza Navona and 10 minutes from the Vatican. A buffet breakfast is offered every morning in a large, windowed room on the main level. The hotel does not have its own restaurant, but nearby eateries are plentiful, including the Il Gonfalone and Il Cardinale. The hotel was built on the foundation of an old Roman court house, and the huge blocks of stone are still visible in the bar and lounge. Fiumicino International Airport is about 35 kilometers and 30 minutes' drive away. Bathrooms are tiled in white and beige. Other features minibars, newspapers and desks.
